Invaders

Yuck.  This is what I saw the other day as I conducted my "security check" of the garden.  Not my favorite house guests!!  I saw an adult that must have been the mothership because she was about as big around as a quarter.  I've been spraying the bugs directly with soapy water and using diatomaceous earth.

How do you handle squash bugs?

I have been completely unsuccessful controlling this pest.

I think it requires a great deal of vigilance. I picked a bunch of them off yesterday, along with a slew of eggs, but my DE dusting is worthless today since it's raining. The squash borers have gotten two of my plants this week.

Put Al foil under new plants. LIGHT will disturb them. At least try it on one plant

I will try that!
